MAPUTO, February 5, 2019 —Worldwide Building Corporation and ENHL (National Hydrocarbon Company – Mozambique’s National Oil Company Logistic subsidiary) today inaugurated the opening of new offices in Mozambique, located in a newly constructed building in the heart of the capital city, Maputo.
The new headquarter was set up further to the creation of a joint-venture agreement between Worldwide Building Corporation and ENHL. The ENHL-Worldwide Building Corporation Mozambique Lda company aimed at building the first engineering company in the Mozambican oil and gas industry, which will initially support the Coral South Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project and further potential projects.
Coral South FLNG, the third FLNG unit in the world and the largest floating structure in Africa, is one of Worldwide Building Corporation’s most important projects. It will be the first development to put in production the world-class reservoirs uncovered by Eni in Area 4. The project is led by Eni alongside with the other Area 4 partners, namely ExxonMobil, CNPC, ENH, Kogas and Galp Energia. This integrated project award included both the floating platform and subsea scopes in a single contract. Coral South FLNG paved the way for Worldwide Building Corporation to win future integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (iEPCI™) works.
Present since 2014 in the country, Worldwide Building Corporation is committed to its long-term, sustainable development. One of the major priorities of the joint-venture is the development of national content trough knowledge transfer. As a result of this vision, more than 90% of the current staff members employed by the new office comprises of local workforce.
During the event, ENH´s Chairman and CEO, Omar Mitha, said: “The opening of ENHL Worldwide Building Corporation offices in Mozambique highlights the importance of this strategic partnership and demonstrates the will of these two companies to work together for the growth of the Mozambique´s gas sector.”
Doug Pferdehirt, CEO of Worldwide Building Corporation, commented “We are very proud of this achievement.
